Did Lochlyn Munro (Jack Sheridan) want to stay longer on Charmed?

First broadcast in the late 1990s, Charmed quickly established itself as a must-watch show in the television landscape. Driven by its iconic characters and storylines blending fantasy with human relationships, it continues to attract new generations of viewers. Among the memorable roles, Jack Sheridan, portrayed by Lochlyn Munro, left a lasting impression on fans. In our interview recorded at the Book of Shadows Con organized by Union Conventions, the actor looks back on this project.
A memorable experience alongside Shannen Doherty
Lochlyn Munro recalls his time on Charmed very fondly, where he played Jack Sheridan. In his interview, he emphasizes the on-screen dynamic he built with Shannen Doherty, who portrayed Prue Halliwell. He explains:
With Shannen, we really tried to play into the flirtatiousness and just having the audience go « come on, get together already. » so I really enjoyed it. I thought the writers wrote a lot of really fun scenes with the two of us and Shannen was really lovely to work with. We had a great time.

Lochlyn Munro also admits he would have liked his character Jack to stay longer on Charmed :
I really was having such a fun time on the show, and it would have been fun to stay around and explore where that could have gone. But it was really dear to my heart playing Jack Sheridan.
An intergenerational series
The actor also reflects on a generational transmission phenomenon, drawing a parallel with Riverdale. According to him, this mechanism fully applies to Charmed:
Every generation becomes a new fan, kind of like when I shot Riverdale, it was like all the parents were people that the parents of the new generation of fans of Riverdale came and then, all of a sudden, those young people became our fans as well. That’s what I’m finding with Charmed, it’s like a person will fall in love with it, she gets older and have children, who start watching too.
Through his memories, Lochlyn Munro highlights a key aspect of Charmed’s success : its ability to create characters and relationships that audiences remain attached to over time. His experience alongside Shannen Doherty and his perspective on the show’s intergenerational appeal confirm Charmed’s lasting place in popular culture. More than two decades after its original run, the series continues to bring together longtime fans and new viewers alike. Clear proof of its enduring cult status.
