Through his words, he paid a sincere tribute to his former co-star while also reflecting on the dynamic between their characters and the atmosphere on set.
Brian Krause pays tribute to Julian McMahon
In the series that aired between 1998 and 2006, Julian McMahon left a strong impression on fans with his portrayal of Cole Turner, a complex character torn between good and evil. His relationship with the Halliwell sisters, especially Phoebe, became one of the most memorable story arcs of the show. Brian Krause recalls the actor and the atmosphere on set with emotion :
“Julian McMahon, God his rest his soul, was not just a great actor but a great human being. And everytime he was on the set, it was fun. So we had a lot of fun together (…). We both wish we could’ve had more. But he’ll be missed. I definitely wish they could’ve been more.“
In Charmed, the interactions between Leo Wyatt, the Whitelighter who protects the witches, and Cole Turner indeed created a unique dynamic. The former represented order and protection, while the latter embodied a character torn between his demonic origins and his desire for redemption. This opposition fueled scenes that mixed dramatic tension with humor. Discover Brian Krause’s full comments about Julian McMahon and the Cole/Leo dynamic in the video below.
A strong friendship with Holly Marie Combs
In the series, the relationship between Leo and Piper is one of the central love stories. Their couple faces many obstacles, the Elders’ prohibition, supernatural dangers, and personal sacrifices, but remains one of the emotional pillars of the show. It is clear that this experience brought their actors, Holly Marie Combs and Brian Krause, very close. During our interview, he shared :
“Holly became not just a co-worker. She’s really become one of my best friends. Same with Drew Fuller. If I’m going through something, and I need to talk about my son, or my life or a girlfriend, they’ve been the people that I’ve been able to go to. And they know me well. Holly’s really become like a big sister to me. I’m really grateful.”
